Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, is now described in 2026 reports as the Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASFUED), so you will see both names. The most detailed 2026/2027 account comes from Legit.ng, which said it relied on a notice published on the university's website. This guide uses that report and says plainly what it does not cover.
What the screening is
According to Legit.ng, the university's 2026/2027 notice, published on its website on Monday 22 June 2026, invited candidates to an online screening for 100 level UTME and 200 level Direct Entry admission. Candidates assessed through a point grading system based on UTME scores and the grades in the five best relevant O'level subjects for their chosen programme. Candidates "complete the online screening process" in the portal, but the report does not describe test questions, subjects or a duration. We could not open the university's own notice to read the exact wording.
Who can apply
As reported by Legit.ng for 2026/2027:
- TASFUED as first choice in the 2026 UTME with a minimum score of 160.
- Candidates who scored 160 or more and changed their first choice to TASFUED through JAMB before registration closed.
- Age: at least 16 years by 1 October 2026.
- Five relevant O'level credit passes in not more than two sittings, with English Language and Mathematics compulsory for all programmes; O'level results must be uploaded on JAMB CAPS before the exercise closes.
- Direct Entry candidates, including TASFUED JUPEB candidates, with a JAMB DE form and TASFUED as first choice, who submit their online screening report and result notification to the admission office in Ijagun.
The university listed 63 accredited programmes for 2026/2027, and advised applicants to apply only where they meet the stated admission conditions.
How to apply
The report says to visit the admission portal at my.tasued.edu.ng, select undergraduate admission and begin the Post-UTME/Direct Entry application, enter your JAMB registration number, create an application account, pay for the screening form, complete the online screening, and print your application and screening slips. Biodata, JAMB subjects, UTME scores and choices come from JAMB CAPS, and candidates must use the integrated O'level Verification System to confirm results. The fee was not stated in the report.

Other education sites reported that the 2026/2027 deadline was extended to 17 July, but we could not confirm that against the notice. For 2025/2026, sites reported a registration window of 21 July to 8 August 2025 on v4.tasued.edu.ng. See the 2027 dates page.
How your score is worked out
The reported method is a point grading system built from your UTME score and your five best relevant O'level grades. The weights between those two inputs and the O'level points table were not reported, so we do not give an example. For a general idea of how combined scores work, see our aggregate calculator guide.
What is not published
Not in the report we read: the fee, the weights and O'level points table, the number of questions or any test, and the programme-by-programme cut-offs. Confirm the 160 UTME figure on the portal before you rely on it.
Before you pay or submit
Scam sites copy university notices every admission season, so check these before you part with money for TASUED:
- Type the portal address yourself or follow the link from the university's own website; do not use links sent on WhatsApp or social media.
- Confirm the fee on the portal screen and keep the payment receipt and your application slip.
- Compare the name on your JAMB profile, O'level result and birth documents letter by letter, because mismatches cause avoidable problems.
- Never pay anyone who promises TASUED admission, leaked questions or "expo"; they are scams and malpractice can cost you your place.
A practice plan for TASUED
- Make the UTME score count. TASFUED's reported grading uses your UTME score plus your five best relevant O'level subjects. Your UTME score is the part of the process you can still influence, so spend most of your time on the four UTME subjects. Our guide to scoring 300 in JAMB is a good place to start.
- Keep your O'level record clean. Check that your name, date of birth and subjects match across your JAMB profile, result slips and birth documents. Make sure the O'level subjects you plan to count are the ones relevant to your chosen programme in the JAMB brochure.
- Sharpen English and Mathematics every day. Short sessions on English Language practice and Mathematics practice help with the UTME and with any aptitude test a university adds later.
- Run timed blocks. In the last month before the UTME, practise in 40-question timed sets with a visible clock; CBT exam tips explains how to pace yourself.
- Set a weekly rhythm. Plan five study days and one review day, and log your scores each week so you can see which topics are slipping before the next UTME and screening cycle.
Original example: Which word is a synonym of "brief"? (a) lengthy (b) short (c) heavy (d) noisy. (b) short. This is our own question, not from TASUED.
