Post-UTME 2027 Dates by University: What Is Announced

No university has announced 2027 post-UTME dates yet. See the 2026 screening dates for UNILAG, UNILORIN and OAU, and how to confirm your school's schedule.

Post-UTME is the screening that many universities run after the UTME. Every school sets its own rules and its own dates, which makes a single national "post-UTME 2027 timetable" impossible. So here is the position as at 29 October 2026: no university has announced 2027 post-UTME dates that we could find.

What we can do is show you how the 2026 cycle unfolded, and how the proposed 2027 calendar might push things around.

What is confirmed and what is not

Item2027 status
University-by-university post-UTME datesNot announced
UTME exam window15 to 25 March 2027 (proposed, not final)
JAMB admission policy meetingNot announced
Minimum UTME scores for 2027 admissionNot announced

Examples from the 2026 cycle

These are 2026 dates for the 2026/2027 session. They show the range of timing, not what will happen in 2027.

University2026 post-UTME datesNotes
UNILAG27 to 31 July 2026Reported as an online aptitude test; announced in June 2026
UNILORIN13 to 15 August 2026Registration closed 9 August; slip printing from 10 August; open to UTME and Direct Entry applicants
OAU25 to 30 September 2026Originally 1 to 5 September; rescheduled in a statement dated 28 August; registration extended to 23 September

Three lessons come out of this table:

  1. The spread is wide. In 2026, screening ran from late July to late September across just these three schools.
  2. Dates move. OAU shifted its screening by about three and a half weeks, and gave no reason.
  3. Each school has its own process. Registration deadlines, slip printing and portals all differ.

Who gets to take it

For OAU in 2026, the exercise was for candidates who met the minimum cut-off in the 2026 UTME and chose OAU as their first choice. Attendance was compulsory and in person. Other schools have their own conditions.

For the 2026/2027 session, JAMB retained a minimum score of 150 for universities, decided at its policy meeting on 11 May 2026. Universities set their own screening requirements, so meeting the national floor does not by itself guarantee a place in the screening at your first-choice school. Always read your school's notice.

How the 2027 UTME timing could affect post-UTME

The proposed UTME window for 2027 is 15 to 25 March, about a month earlier than in 2026. In 2026, the UTME ended on 25 April and the earliest of the three screenings above began in late July. If the 2027 proposal is confirmed, universities could start screening earlier, but that is only a possibility. The proposed calendar also targets results from the main exam bodies by August 2027 and admissions from September. Schools will have to finish screening before admission lists go out, but each will announce its own dates.

See the JAMB 2027 UTME date and timetable for the latest on the main exam.

How to track your school's post-UTME date

  1. Bookmark the admissions page of your first-choice university. Notices are posted there first.
  2. Use the portal you registered on. Many schools use a dedicated screening portal where your JAMB registration number is the username, as OAU did in 2026.
  3. Check JAMB's CAPS and your email for admission processes, since institutions respond to JAMB choices.
  4. Ignore date rumours. Screenshots on WhatsApp are often wrong or old.
  5. Watch for fraud. OAU warned candidates in 2026 to deal only with official channels and not with admission agents.

Prepare before the date is announced

You do not need the date to start preparing. Most screenings test subjects tied to your course, plus English and general aptitude, though formats differ by school. Read our guide on how to prepare for post-UTME and use the post-UTME aggregate calculator to see how your UTME score and screening score combine for schools that use an aggregate.

A good rhythm after the UTME is to keep practising weekly, so that when the date appears you are warm, not starting from zero.

Reading a post-UTME notice

When your university publishes its notice, check each of these items:

ItemWhat to look for
EligibilityThe minimum UTME score, and whether the school must be your first choice
Registration windowThe opening and closing dates, and what happens if you miss the deadline
Screening datesThe days, times and venues or portal, and whether the test is online or in person
Slip printingThe date you can print your screening slip
FeesThe exact amount and the official payment channel
ContactThe official email or phone number listed on the school's website

In 2026, the examples above show how much this varies. UNILORIN had a registration closing date, a slip-printing date and a three-day test window. OAU sent assigned dates and time slots through its portal, with the candidate's JAMB registration number as the login. UNILAG's screening was reported as an online aptitude test.

Common mistakes

  • Treating a rumour as the date. Wait for the notice on the school's own site.
  • Missing the registration deadline. In several schools the screening slip is only available after you complete registration.
  • Ignoring the venue rules. OAU's 2026 notice said attendance was compulsory and in person.
  • Paying through a stranger. Use the official channel listed on the school's site.

Frequently asked questions

When is the post-UTME in 2027?

No university has announced 2027 dates that we could find. Each institution sets its own screening schedule after the UTME, so dates differ by school.

Examples from 2026: UNILAG 27 to 31 July, UNILORIN 13 to 15 August, and OAU 25 to 30 September after a rescheduling. Dates varied a lot between schools.

Do I need to have scored the cut-off to take post-UTME?

Usually the screening is for candidates who met the institution's minimum UTME score and chose it as their first choice. OAU's 2026 notice stated this, so check your school's own notice.
