FUT Minna Post-UTME: Requirements, Format, Practice

FUT Minna's UPASE explained from the 2026/2027 notice: 150-point baseline, course cut-offs up to 250, ePortal steps, June to August dates and how to prepare.

FUT Minna does not call its screening "post-UTME". It uses UPASE, the University Pre-Admission Screening Exercise. If you search only for "post-UTME", you may miss the official pages. This guide uses FUT Minna's own notice and portal.

What the screening is

The 2026/2027 notice describes registering on the ePortal, paying a fee and supplying your O'level details. It does not mention an entrance test, and the portal guide we found follows the same flow. So it reads as document-based screening. We say "reads as" because the notice does not state "no test" in so many words. If FUT Minna adds a test, it will appear in the notice or on your portal dashboard.

Who was eligible in 2026

From the notice and portal:

  • UTME and Direct Entry candidates who chose FUT Minna as first choice.
  • UTME candidates needed at least 150, unless the website lists a higher cut-off for the course. The 2026/2027 portal table runs from 150 for many programmes up to 250 for Medicine and Surgery, with Nursing at 220 and Doctor of Pharmacy at 230.
  • Candidates who met the score but not the subject combination could switch to a course they qualified for.
  • O'level: at least five credits including Mathematics and English Language, in relevant subjects, in no more than two sittings, uploaded to JAMB.
  • Direct Entry: at least Lower Credit at ND or HND, or Merit at NCE.

How to apply

Apply through the ePortal UTME page at eportal.futminna.edu.ng/ePortal_V2/utme/. The notice says the fee is non-refundable and paid through Remita, and the portal guide lists a separate small charge for changing programme. Amounts can change, so check the portal. The guide to the process is on futminna.edu.ng under "Apply to FUTMINNA", with enquiries through the UPASE contact in the notice.

Last cycle's timeline (2026/2027)

ItemDate
Registration opensMonday 15 June 2026
Registration closesmidnight, Sunday 9 August 2026

The notice gives no screening date, because the process is built around registration. No 2027 dates are announced; see post-UTME 2027 dates.

What is not published

No aggregate formula, test subjects or question count appear in the notice or the guide. Do not rely on blog posts that quote them. Our aggregate calculator guide explains how to test a formula once you have one from FUT Minna.

A preparation plan for FUT Minna

Since the screening is paperwork and thresholds, the most useful preparation is partly clerical and partly about your course choice.

  1. Check your course cut-off now. If your UTME score is below your course's published figure, ask whether a related course fits your subjects, and plan any change on JAMB CAPS within the window.
  2. Prepare uploads. Gather your O'level details and make sure they match your JAMB profile.
  3. Keep your study habit. Even without a test, admissions competition and your first semester reward strong English Language and Mathematics. Use English practice and Mathematics practice a few times a week.
  4. Read the notice every week during the window. Details such as the cut-off table can change.

Original example: Find the value of 4³ − 2⁴. 64 − 16 = 48. This question is ours, not from FUT Minna.

For the general framework, see how to prepare for post-UTME. Compare FUTO and FUTA, the other federal technology universities in this series. No page can guarantee admission.

Checklist before you pay anything

  • Compare your score with your course's cut-off on the ePortal table before paying.
  • Remember the portal guide lists a small extra charge for changing programme.
  • Have your O'level details ready: five credits including English Language and Mathematics.
  • Direct Entry applicants should check the ND, HND or NCE grade requirement first.

A six-week schedule

WeekFocusTarget
1Document auditEvery name, number and upload matches your JAMB profile
2Score and cut-off checkCompare your UTME score with your programme's published figure
3Core skillsThree 25-question sets in English Language and Mathematics
4Course subjectsTwo sets per subject, reviewed the next day
5Mixed timed setOne 40-question set in case a test is added
6Buffer for portal problemsSubmit early, save every receipt

Because UPASE reads as document screening, use spare study time to keep your English and Mathematics sharp. Adjust the weeks if your window is shorter, and cut the number of subjects rather than the number of timed sets.

Two more practice questions

Both are original, written for this guide, and not taken from any FUT Minna paper.

  1. y varies directly as x, and y = 12 when x = 4. Find y when x = 9. Working: k = 12 ÷ 4 = 3, so y = 3 × 9 = 27.
  2. Which part of a flower develops into the fruit? Working: The ovary.

After each set, write down why you missed a question: a content gap, a careless slip or a time problem. Each needs a different fix.

Practise now

ExamPadi has 46,182 practice questions across JAMB, WAEC, NECO and NABTEB, with timed CBT mode, free practice and a Pro tier, on Android, iOS, web and Windows. Practise for your Post-UTME and keep your skills sharp. Confirm every date, fee and score on the university's official portal or website before you act; no guide can promise admission.
