The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, keeps its admission page live on its own portal, so the 2025/2026 rules can be read directly. What the page does not do is describe a test, and that matters when you are deciding how to prepare. This guide separates the portal's wording from press reports for 2026/2027.
What the screening is
The FUNAAB portal invites applicants who selected FUNAAB or an affiliated institution as first choice to apply online for the Post-UTME Screening Exercise. The page describes an e-application form and does not describe test questions, subjects or a duration. Some third-party posts described the 2025/2026 screening as computer-based, but we could not confirm that from FUNAAB's own page, so treat it as unconfirmed. The portal also says successful candidates are offered admission on JAMB CAPS and undergo an ICT training and orientation programme.
Who can apply
From the FUNAAB portal (2025/2026) and reports:
- Applicants for 100, 200 or 300 level at FUNAAB or its affiliate institutions who chose it as their first-choice degree-awarding institution.
- UTME candidates at 160 and above for 2026/2027 (MySchoolNews and ULearngo; the portal page we read did not state a score). Blogs also reported 160 for 2025/2026, which we could not confirm from a FUNAAB page.
- For 2026/2027, a report said applicants must be at least 16 years old by 30 September 2026.
- Direct Entry candidates with OND, HND, NCE, A'level, IJMB or JUPEB results, who must submit transcripts to the Registrar by the stated deadline.
The portal warns that candidates who upload wrong O'level or other results will be disqualified automatically, and that you alone are responsible for meeting minimum requirements before paying.
How to apply
Log in at admission.funaab.edu.ng with your JAMB UTME or Direct Entry number to generate an invoice with a REMITA reference. In 2025/2026 the non-refundable screening fee was 2,000 naira plus a 1,000 naira portal access fee, excluding REMITA charges; a 2026/2027 report gave 2,000 plus 3,000 naira. Pay by bank, card or the Remita website, then return to complete the e-application and print your form. Correcting wrongly entered data cost 1,500 naira in 2025/2026.
Timeline
From the portal and reports:
| Stage | Date |
|---|---|
| Application opens, 2025/2026 (portal) | 21 July 2025 |
| Application closes, 2025/2026 (portal) | 15 August 2025; later extension reported by blogs, which disagree (22 or 26 August 2025) |
| Registration begins, 2026/2027 (reported) | 2 June 2026 |
| Direct Entry transcripts due, 2026/2027 (ULearngo) | 31 July 2026 |
The 2026/2027 dates come from news sites, not the FUNAAB page we could open. Track later cycles on the 2027 dates page.
How your score is worked out
The FUNAAB portal page we read does not publish an aggregate formula or weights. There is no official split to quote, so do not rely on figures from blogs. Our aggregate calculator guide explains how combined scores are usually built, and you should confirm FUNAAB's method on the portal.
What is not published
Not published in the sources we could verify: the test format (if any), the aggregate formula, the UTME score on the official page, and the 2026/2027 notice text. The portal's helpdesk email and phone lines are listed on the page for questions.
Before you pay or submit
Scam sites copy university notices every admission season, so check these before you part with money for FUNAAB:
- Type the portal address yourself or follow the link from the university's own website; do not use links sent on WhatsApp or social media.
- Confirm the fee on the portal screen and keep the payment receipt and your application slip.
- Compare the name on your JAMB profile, O'level result and birth documents letter by letter, because mismatches cause avoidable problems.
- Never pay anyone who promises FUNAAB admission, leaked questions or "expo"; they are scams and malpractice can cost you your place.
A practice plan for FUNAAB
- Make the UTME score count. FUNAAB's page is about eligibility and uploads, not a described test, so the UTME and clean documents are your priorities. Your UTME score is the part of the process you can still influence, so spend most of your time on the four UTME subjects. Our guide to scoring 300 in JAMB is a good place to start.
- Keep your O'level record clean. Check that your name, date of birth and subjects match across your JAMB profile, result slips and birth documents. FUNAAB disqualifies wrong uploads automatically, so check every O'level and Direct Entry result before you submit.
- Sharpen English and Mathematics every day. Short sessions on English Language practice and Mathematics practice help with the UTME and with any aptitude test a university adds later.
- Run timed blocks. In the last month before the UTME, practise in 40-question timed sets with a visible clock; CBT exam tips explains how to pace yourself.
- Set a weekly rhythm. Plan five study days and one review day, and log your scores each week so you can see which topics are slipping before the next UTME and screening cycle.
Original example: Which is the odd one out: wheat, maize, rice, cassava, millet? Cassava is a root crop, while the others are cereals. This is our own question, not from FUNAAB.
