UNIUYO Post-UTME: Requirements, Format and Practice
UNIUYO post-UTME explained from the 2026/2027 notice: 150 UTME rule, first choice, admissions portal steps, what the notice leaves out and a practice plan.

The University of Uyo's notice is brief: it tells you who may apply and how to register, and it stops there. This page reports the notice and flags what it omits. One caution first: the notice sits at a web address that still contains "2023-2024" even though its content is for 2026/2027, which is a common trap with old links.
What the screening is
The notice describes the Post-UTME/Direct Entry Screening Exercise and covers only online registration. It does not describe a test, give subjects or list screening dates, and it points to separate guidelines on the e-portal. So the format is not stated in the notice. Third-party sites quote various dates and fees for UNIUYO, and some mix up sessions, so we do not repeat them here.
Who was eligible in 2026
According to the notice:
- UTME candidates: UNIUYO as first choice in the 2026 JAMB UTME, with a score of at least 150.
- Direct Entry candidates: UNIUYO as first choice in the 2026 Direct Entry application.
The notice does not state an age limit, O'level rule or course-level cut-off. The e-portal's detailed guidelines may cover them, so read those pages for your programme.
How to apply
The steps in the notice are:
- Go to admissions.uniuyo.edu.ng (also reachable through eportals.uniuyo.edu.ng), create an account and verify your email.
- Generate a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) for the application fee, pay online or at a bank, and confirm payment on the portal. The notice mentions the fee but does not give an amount, so read it on the portal.
- Start a new application, enter your details, upload documents as PDFs and submit.
- Print the screening exercise slip.
Keep your RRR and slip. If a payment does not confirm, use the portal's support routes, not a stranger offering to "fix" it.
What dates exist
We could not find a 2026/2027 registration or screening date in the notice. One third-party site reported a closing date in August 2026, but we treat that as unconfirmed. For 2027 nothing is announced; see post-UTME 2027 dates.
If what you hear conflicts with the notice
School-gate rumours, social media posts and agents often disagree with the university. The rule is simple: the notice and the portal outrank everything else. If an agent says the fee is higher, the dates are different or that you can "buy" a slot, do not pay. Ask the admissions office through the contacts on the e-portal, and keep a screenshot of the notice you relied on.
What is not published
The notice gives no aggregate formula, test subjects, question count or dates. If a blog gives them, ask for the UNIUYO source. Our aggregate calculator guide shows how to apply a formula that you can verify.
A practice plan for UNIUYO
- Read the e-portal guidelines. They are the detailed rulebook, and they may change between cycles.
- Prepare PDFs. Scan your documents as PDFs before registration so you are not rushing on deadline day.
- Cover the basics. English Language and Mathematics daily, then your course subjects. Use English practice and Mathematics practice.
- Practise two ways. Do some timed sets on screen and some on paper in case a test is announced. See how to use past questions.
Original example: A tank holds 600 litres. If it is 40% full, how many more litres are needed to fill it? 40% of 600 is 240, so 600 − 240 = 360 litres. This question is ours, not from UNIUYO.
Read how to prepare for post-UTME for the framework, and compare UNICAL and UNN, which also use a 160 or 150 UTME threshold in 2026. No guide can promise admission.
Checklist before you pay anything
- Make sure the page you read is for the right session; the notice sits at an address that still contains 2023-2024.
- Read the guidelines page on the e-portal before you start.
- Keep your RRR and payment confirmation.
- Upload documents as PDFs, as the notice instructs.
A six-week schedule
| Week | Focus | Target |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Find the official notice and note the rules | A one-page summary in your own words |
| 2 | Core skills | Three 25-question sets in English Language and Mathematics |
| 3 | Course subjects | Two sets per subject |
| 4 | Timed mixed blocks | 40 questions in about 40 minutes |
| 5 | Adapt to the announced format | Switch to test, document or interview preparation |
| 6 | Review and logistics | Slip, ID, route, sleep |
UNIUYO's notice is about registration, so the biggest risk is a clerical error. Adjust the weeks if your window is shorter, and cut the number of subjects rather than the number of timed sets.
Two more practice questions
Both are original, written for this guide, and not taken from any UNIUYO paper.
- A car worth ₦1,000,000 loses 10% of its value each year. What is it worth after 2 years? Working: After year one it is ₦900,000, and after year two it is ₦810,000.
- What kind of rock forms when magma cools? Working: Igneous rock.
After each set, write down why you missed a question: a content gap, a careless slip or a time problem. Each needs a different fix.
