JAMB 2027 Mock Exam Date: What We Know So Far

JAMB has not announced a 2027 mock UTME date. Here is how the 2026 mock worked, what changed, and how to prepare so you are ready whenever it is set.

ExamPadi Editorial · Updated · 6 min read

Short answer: there is no confirmed JAMB mock exam date for 2027. The proposed 2027 calendar, shared by JAMB on its social media pages, lists the main UTME window of 15 to 25 March 2027 and says nothing about a mock. If a website gives you an exact 2027 mock date, ask where it came from. As at 29 October 2026 we could not find an official source.

How the 2026 mock worked

The 2026 mock is the best guide to what a mock looks like, but remember it is a reference, not a promise.

Detail2026 (reported)
DateSaturday, 28 March 2026
StatusOptional, but those who signed up were expected to sit it
LengthExtended from two hours to four hours
FormatTwo consecutive sessions, 8:00 to 10:00 am, then 10:30 am to 12:30 pm
Slip printingOpened Monday, 23 March 2026 on the JAMB website
FeeRegistration fee was N8,700 with the mock and N7,200 without it, per JAMB's approved 2026 fees
Main UTME afterwards16 to 25 April 2026

The mock was held about three weeks before the main exam. Per the reporting, its purposes were to give candidates practice with the computer-based format and to let JAMB test its systems and centres so that technical problems are less likely on the main exam days.

In 2026 the difference between the two fee categories was N1,500, which JAMB listed as the mock centre charge. Do not assume the 2027 figure will be the same; JAMB has not announced 2027 fees.

Does a mock help you?

A mock is practice for the main exam. Check JAMB's notice for how mock results are used. What it gives you is a rehearsal:

  • You learn how the CBT interface behaves, including how to move between questions and flag the ones you want to revisit.
  • You see how your time management holds up under real conditions.
  • You find out which centre you will use and how to get there, if you are assigned one.
  • You meet any technical hiccups early, rather than on the day that matters.

If JAMB offers a 2027 mock and you can take it, those are good reasons to do so. If it does not, you can still rehearse on your own.

Build your own mock

You do not need to wait for JAMB to practise like it is exam day. Try this routine:

  1. Pick a Saturday morning and treat it like the real thing. Phone away, no notes.
  2. Sit the four subjects you registered for, including Use of English, in one go, using a timer.
  3. Mark your paper strictly and write down why each wrong answer was wrong: weak topic, careless slip or poor time management.
  4. Repeat every two weeks, and move to weekly in the last month before the exam.
  5. Track your score by subject so you can see where to spend your next study hours.

The proposed UTME window starts on 15 March 2027. Counting back from that date, a sensible rhythm is one full self-made mock every two weeks from January, then weekly from mid-February. Adjust it once JAMB confirms the final dates.

What to watch for

  • Registration notice. The mock is usually linked to registration. Read the full 2027 notice, not a summary from a stranger on social media. Our guide to JAMB 2027 registration explains what is and is not announced.
  • Slip printing. The slip shows your date, time and centre. Print it as soon as it opens.
  • Scams. Nobody can sell you mock questions, advance results or a "special" centre. JAMB has warned about fraud networks in the 2026 cycle. Use official channels only.

If you want a deeper explanation of the mock itself, see our general guide on the JAMB mock exam, and for the main exam see the JAMB 2027 UTME date and timetable.

Using your mock result

When JAMB ran the 2026 mock, a report dated 1 April 2026 described results being released within days of the exam. A mock result is feedback, not a prediction. Use it like this:

  • Compare it with your own practice scores. If your mock score is far below your practice average, the cause is usually timing, nerves or an unfamiliar interface, not knowledge.
  • List the weakest subject first. Spend the next two weeks on it.
  • Do not panic or celebrate too early. A single sitting is one data point.

On the day of a mock

Whether the exam is official or one you set yourself, follow the same routine you plan to use for the real UTME:

  1. Sleep properly the night before.
  2. Arrive early at the centre, with your slip and any identification JAMB requires.
  3. Read each question carefully before choosing an answer.
  4. Flag hard questions and return to them rather than burning minutes.
  5. Check your remaining time at fixed points, for example after every 30 questions.

Small habits like these can save you real marks on the main exam, which is the one that counts.

ExamPadi has 46,182 practice questions across JAMB, WAEC, NECO and NABTEB, with a timed CBT mode that lets you rehearse exactly the way described above. Free practice is available, and there is a Pro tier if you want more. It works on Android, iOS, web and Windows.

Start a timed JAMB practice session on ExamPadi and build the habit before the official mock is announced.
