JAMB Past Questions and Answers PDF (and a Better Way)

Should you download JAMB past questions as a PDF? The honest trade-offs, the risks of random downloads, and a free, always-updated alternative with answers.

Search "JAMB past questions and answers PDF" and you will find hundreds of results. Some are useful, many are tired, and a few are risky. This article is a fair look at what a PDF can and cannot do for you, and why many candidates end up switching to a practice platform. We do not host or link to downloadable PDFs of exams, because many circulate without permission and quality control.

Why people want a PDF

The appeal is easy to understand. A PDF is free, it works without data once downloaded, you can print it, and it feels like "the real thing". For a student with a basic phone and a patchy connection, that matters.

Where PDFs fall short

They go stale. The JAMB syllabus is updated, and new questions are added every year. A PDF compiled a few years ago can leave out recent patterns, and a file with no date is a guess. Always compare with the current syllabus on JAMB's IBASS.

They often carry mistakes. When a file is copied again and again, errors accumulate: a missing option, a mangled formula, a wrong answer key. In Mathematics and Physics, one broken exponent changes the answer.

They rarely explain. A key that says "B" does not teach you why. If you do not understand the working, you will miss the next version of the same question.

They are not exam-shaped. The UTME is a computer-based test with a timer and four subjects. Reading a PDF on a phone does not train you for that screen and pace.

They may be unsafe. Unknown download sites can bundle adverts, harmful files or demands for personal details. Keep your phone and data safe: never install an app or run a file just to "unlock" a PDF.

Copyright and permission. Exam papers belong to the examining body. Files shared in bulk without permission are a grey area, and we do not encourage them.

A fair comparison

PDFs are not useless. A clean, recent file can help you drill a topic. The key is not to let it be your only tool.

A better way: practise by topic and in timed sets

ExamPadi has 46,182 practice questions across JAMB, WAEC, NECO and NABTEB. For JAMB, the bank covers questions from 2010 to 2025 across the UTME subjects. Every question comes with an answer and explanation, and you can filter by subject and topic, which a static PDF cannot do.

The free tier gives you daily practice across any subject, plus topic notes, at no cost and without a card. The Pro tier removes the daily cap and unlocks full timed mock exams that mirror the computer-based format. You can start on the web, Android, iOS or Windows, and the mobile apps support offline practice after you download questions.

You can begin straight away at our free JAMB past questions page, or pick a subject such as JAMB English or JAMB Mathematics.

How to use past questions well

Whatever source you pick, the method decides the result:

  1. Attempt a set first, before looking at the answers.
  2. Mark honestly and write a reason for every mistake.
  3. Group mistakes by topic and revise those topics.
  4. Retry fresh questions on the same topic a few days later.
  5. Finish with timed full-length papers.

Our guide on how to use past questions covers the method step by step. Pair it with a plan from how to pass JAMB.

Practising offline

If data is your main worry, you do not have to rely on a random PDF. Download a set of questions in the ExamPadi mobile app and study offline. We explain more in our JAMB offline app guide. For a wider look at computer-based practice, see free CBT practice in Nigeria.

What not to do

  • Do not pay for "expo" or "leaked" questions. These are scams and they put your candidacy at risk.
  • Do not memorise answers without understanding. Question numbers and values change.
  • Do not rely on one old file for the whole syllabus.

A one-week test of any resource

If you are not sure whether a PDF, an app or a book is right for you, try this for seven days. Pick one subject. Each day, do 20 questions from the resource, mark yourself, and write down every mistake with a reason. At the end of the week, ask three questions: Did I find errors in the answers? Did the explanations help me understand? Did I know which topics to revise next? If the answers are no, no and no, change the tool. If they are yes, yes and yes, keep it. A resource should earn its place in your timetable, not the other way round.

Start with five questions

Pick one subject, open it, and answer five questions with the explanations on. That is a better test of any resource than reading reviews. When you are ready, the JAMB practice hub organises everything by subject, and we do not claim that practice alone guarantees a score. It does give you a clear, honest picture of where you stand.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to download JAMB past questions PDF?

It depends on the source. PDFs from unknown sites can be incomplete, wrong, outdated or carry unwanted software. Prefer a source you can trust and compare answers before relying on them.

Are PDF answers always correct?

No. Collections passed between sites often contain typing errors, missing options or wrong keys, and few explain the working. Always check a doubtful answer yourself.

Does ExamPadi have JAMB past questions for free?

Yes. There is free daily practice across subjects with answers and explanations, and a Pro tier that unlocks full timed mock exams.

Can I study JAMB questions offline?

The ExamPadi mobile apps support offline practice once questions are downloaded. The web version needs a connection.
